Vedic Sampradaya is growing

“This community of volunteers is dedicated to providing authentic resources for anyone who is interested in Hindu religion. Spearheaded by a core team of members, VS has embarked on an ambitious project to get all resources in one place. Considering the vastness of our religion, this is planned to be achieved with extensive COLLABORATION, CONTRIBUTION and SUPPORT of various subject matter experts, existing databases and organizations deeply committed to preaching and practicing various aspects VEDAS and VEDIC PHILOSOPHY
To begin with, the community was focused on getting experts to perform RUDRABHISHEKAM, ARUNA PARAYANAM in response to the demand from local communities. Veda classes are conducted where folks are taught from beginners to advanced level in Rudram, Chamakam, Mahanyasam, Aruna Parayanam in addition to important aspects of performing a HOMAM. Recently the community collaborated with the NJ Anusham Group (KKSF) that is dedicated to performing monthly Anusham Pujai at the devotee’s house. The success translated into quickly adding Namasankeerthanam performed at least once every month. All of these events are already booked for the remainder of the year wherein some months we have scheduled additional events to accommodate the overwhelming demand.
To meet the growing demands from the community, this website has been revamped with lots of additional features like Upcoming Events including an online calendar, reminder, Newsletters, Contact Us Form for requesting a service online, Blogs, Galleries (Photos, Videos, Testimonials), Vedic Library (Documents, Audio, Video files including actual script, templates, procedures, guideline on best practices) and so on.”

1914 translation by H. Rackham

“On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice is untrammeled and when nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure is to be welcomed and every pain avoided. But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted. The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains.”
